Confident Transparency
Posted by Josh Klein
Sam asked what I mean by confident transparency.
Confidence is about believing in what you say and do. It’s about saying and doing what you believe in.
Transparency is about ripping down the filter, even if (especially if) it means a negative response.
Combining the two - confident transparency - is the real sweet spot.
You can be confident in your convictions, but if you won’t acknowledge the faults your skeptics will inevitably find, you’re not believable.
You can let everything slip past the filter, but if your words and actions don’t match your beliefs, everybody can tell.
Having confident transparency isn’t easy. But it’s necessary.
