Smiling is good marketing, and like all good marketing it isn’t a zero sum game. Its like creating value out of thin air. It benefits everyone without harming anyone.

By giving without demanding anything in return, you generate good will that can help spread your message. You also make people’s lives better.

Maybe its as easy as a smile. Maybe you let them use your entire service for free and figure out another way to make money. Or buy your album for as much as they want to pay.

Just remember that you never benefit by taking something away (their time, their attention, their values).
